Your Gift to me is proximity

There are so many solid ministries and missionaries you could partner with but I am humbled that you choose to invest your prayers/resources through our ministry. You give me a proximity to students that few people have!

Just last week I was facilitating a conversation in the student center with a group of students about God’s heart for money (Ironic given the topic of this email lol) when I received this text from Zoe.

I walked into the Diversity Center to find a girl meticulously putting tabs in a brand new Bible. I said hi to Zoe and she made this statement with no explanation,

“T, has some questions about Jesus…”

I waited for more clarification when T spoke up,

“I have no idea how to read the Bible and I have no idea who Jesus is. I’m just trying to figure it out.”

Don’t make the mistake of thinking this happens to me everyday. I was flabbergasted! This girl had spent her hard earned money on a solid, high quality Bible without even knowing who Jesus was. T was hungry for the gospel and I could tell!

This is the Holy ground that your partnership in the gospel allows me to walk on.

It was 1 o’clock on a Wednesday afternoon when Zoe texted be about T. What does your life like on a Wednesday afternoon? Are you at work? Are you cleaning up the mess your kids made at lunch?

In this instance, I was a mere 50 feet away from a student asking herself the biggest questions about life and eternity!

Your gift to my ministry is proximity. By prayerfully partnering with me financially I can spend the best hours of my day in the proximity of a demographic that will soon change the world!

God at Work on Campus

T has not yet placed her faith in Jesus but we are setting up another meeting to talk about it. However, we have seen at least four other students begin a relationship with Jesus this year!

This semester we see 20 men in discipleship relationships! 8 of those men are students discipling other students.

We will have 25 students attending our Winter Conference in Indianapolis.

We had 25 community members attend our first Cru meeting and actively pray for our movement.

We are sending 8 MSU students (4 couples) to a marriage conference in preparation for their new lives as a family. (More on that in February :)

As the only Cru staff on MSU’s campus I have brought my finite resources to Him and I have seen Him do the multiplication… He is multiplying your resources!

More Opportunity

Here’s the hard truth— currently, we are not meeting our financial goals for monthly support. As you can probably tell, over the last 6 months Kelly and I have put significant effort into sharing our ministry with you and others in a way that fits into the busy lives of our partners.

I fully believe something special is happening at MSU and others would be encouraged by the opportunity to be a part of it. We fully trust God to bring on 50 new financial partners to our team in 2024!

As 2023 comes to a close we are trusting God for $8000 in additional resources for our ministry. Between the gap in our financial support and the conferences I will be attending this winter/spring these resources would put our family in a secure situation.

Three Ways to Partner with us financially

1) By giving a special gift of $500, $200, or some other amount. This would be huge as we seek a margin in our Cru staff account.

2) If you do not currently financially partner with our ministry monthly would you prayerfully consider being one of the 50 new partners we are praying for in 2024? I would love to share the needs of our ministry over a quick zoom call!

**If you choose this, reach out to me at (606)424-7343.

3) Finally, if you currently partner monthly with our ministry would you consider increasing your monthly support?By doubling your gifts it would help us to reach our goal of 50 new partners!

**If you choose to do this, please reach out to me.

Please know we are appreciative of however you decide to partner with our ministry whether that be prayerfully, financially, or both!

Merry Christmas!
