In my late 20’s I felt like young David on a meteoric rise; like I was God’s anointed with a path of blessing. In my naivety, I defined blessing as a lack of difficulty. In my 30’s life simply got harder. Likely some combination of my own sin growing in my blindspots and the natural chaos of life, it was a perfect storm.

My little brother is a physical therapist. It’s interesting to me, he asks some of his patients to do things they are incapable of doing.

For example, Nancy had heart surgery, she’s 93 years old, and hasn’t gotten up from her bed in a week. My brother will look at her and give a gentle command, “Walk down the hallway and back.”

Recently, Christ met me in my frustration and anxiety while reading Psalm 5. The whole Psalm is good– I have often gone back to it– but there is a treasure in verse 3 that primes my morning prayer life.

“In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice;

In the morning I plead my case to you and watch expectantly.” (CSB)

Here’s my point, I truly believe the college campus presents a unique opportunity– not something so menial as keeping one’s faith but– an opportunity to make one’s faith. The college campus, in its proper form, is a launchpad to send maturing believers to the end of God’s earth!
