Prayers Answered! Cru student returns to MSU after devastating car accident.
I was watching Alice poolside on our Cru Daytona Beach Spring Break Trip in March of 2022 when Kelly rushed in with a distressed look on her face. She asked, "Have you heard about Grayson?"
She handed me my phone I realized I had several missed calls from concerned students. Over the next few days we would learn the details of a horrific car accident that took the lives of two Morehead State students and would leave Grayson in a coma. Grayson was one of my guys his freshmen year! Always around and always ready to catch vision. In his sophomore year, he would later admit, that he got swept up in college life. He was still one of our key men in the Greek system but I would see him less and less.
Miraculously, God had other plans for Grayson's life. Physical and cognitive therapy were slow but by November of 2022 I received my first text from Grayson about returning to MSU!
"Patrick, I'm coming back! I want you to disciple me!"
Throughout the tragedy and Grayson's recovery God had not only healed his body and mind but also his heart. Grayson sees himself and his walk with Jesus in a completely different light and seems to be making leaps toward a closer more intimate walk with God.
Grayson is studying to be an athletic trainer. Pictured at the top of this post you will see him at one of his first practices back on the football field. Grayson is also involved with Athletes in Action (Cru’s athletic ministry) at Morehead State. Grayson attended AIA’s Winter Retreat (Pictured above) with a host of student athletes.
